THE PROBLEM

1,000,000

Americans have Parkinson's Disease

4in 10 Americans would talk to their doctor early when experiencing symptoms of Parkinson's
7in 10 Americans would want to know early if they had Parkinson's if it could lead to earlier treatment

The reason for this gap is that treatment is often inconvenient, inaccessible, and far too expensive.

OUR SOLUTION

The CognifyAI app on a laptop, with wave and spiral drawing options and an Upload Image button

WHAT IT IS

Our innovation is a web-based app designed to detect users' risk of Parkinson's Disease using hand drawings and voice recordings. If users choose the hand drawing option, they can choose between wave or spiral drawings. They can then simply upload their image or voice recording and press a button to receive their risk assessment.

WHY IT'S GOOD

Our app provides a non-invasive method for early detection. It comes at an affordable cost, and the patient data is secure and private. Additionally, the app has a user-friendly interface, ensuring ease of use and broad accessibility. Finally, it allows for constant monitoring, which is crucial for understanding users' condition.

HOW IT WORKS

Our app uses an AI machine learning model to evaluate this risk. The model was trained off public datasets of hand drawings and voice recordings from healthy people and Parkinson's patients. The basic features of the app, including the predictive algorithms and user interface, have already been developed and are ready to roll out. The algorithms have been rigorously tested and have a high accuracy rate of 86%-89%.

HOW IT'S COMMUNICATED

Our app will be communicated to the world in several ways: digital marketing tools such as this website, social media, search engine optimization (SEO), and online advertisements. Additionally, we will hold outreach events and free demos with healthcare facilities to establish relationships. Our market will be served through direct sales to individuals, strategic partnerships with medical providers, and licensing services to research facilities.

THE IMPACT

1

QUALITY OF LIFE

The early detection that CognifyAI provides can enhance the quality of life for individuals by providing timely access to appropriate care. Early care can lead to more effective treatments, slower progression of the diseases, and a reduced burden on healthcare systems and caregivers.

2

OVERALL COSTS

CognifyAI's early detection can also allow for less expensive treatment options. This could lead to a reduction in the overall healthcare costs associated with late-stage treatments for Parkinson's disease.

3

ACCESSIBILITY

CognifyAI's accessibility and affordability can make preventive healthcare more inclusive and increase access for underserved populations. Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege.

4

STRATEGY SHIFTS

CognifyAI could also lead to a shift in how neuro-degenerative diseases are diagnosed and managed, potentially leading to more personalized and preventative healthcare strategies.

5

PUBLIC AWARENESS

CognifyAI's availability can increase public awareness about Parkinson's disease. People could be more inclined to learn about this condition, its symptoms, and the importance of early detection.

Mallory Schultz, Lenovo US

"[CognifyAI] makes early Parkinson's Disease detection easily accessible for everyone. When your or a loved one's health begins to decline, an at-home test can be the final push needed to make an appointment with a doctor. For people who might not seek care until their Parkinson's is advanced, accessible testing can be life-changing."
